Christmas Vacay

Hey all,

It has been so nice to just sit and do nothing for the last 2 weeks. It was really nice to see the family again though.

For Christmas I stayed with my dad and Tedann. We had some fun when we got a hold of rockband and got to see Tylynn and Tedann show off their singing capabilities. Christmas was very eventful. I was up at 5 to open presents with my dad, Tedann, and everyone else and then at about 11 Royce and I went to moms and opened more presents and just hung out with her for the rest of the day. We played some rockband and that was fun. Mom can sing pretty well as long as she knows the song and Royce is the expert on the drums, literally, he plays the expert difficulty on nearly every song. There are still a few that give him trouble but he keeps working on it.

Friday Royce, mom, and I went up to SLC to visit everyone up there for Christmas. That was a lot of fun. On our way up we ate at the Wingers in Spanish Fork and I was able to visit an old friend and co-worker who works there. When we got to Wendy's we visited for a little bit and then went to bed so we could get up and hit the hills for some good ol' sledding and a few of us went snowboarding. We were there for a few hours and for once I'm in some of the pictures, thanks mom for taking them. I will try and post these pics up soon but I'm not sure exactly when.

I hope everyone had a happy and safe holiday and a happy new year soon to come,

A bit early

Hey family,

I have just got done with my last final for this semester and I am so excited. 3 weeks of nothing but sleeping in and hanging out with friends. I just had 3 finals today, Thursday, and I feel really good about all of them. I am going to hang our here on campus for a few days and head back to EC on Tuesday, mom and dad, I am really excited to get home and go snowboarding and seeing my friends from high school and just chill. I was up studying forever last night getting ready for my psychology test and I did just fine, I just have the feeling.

I just wanted to let you all know how classes have been going and my week so that is it. I hope you all have a great December and that you all have a merry Christmas.

Austin

Late update

Hey everyone, sorry for my late update. It has been a little hectic around here lately. It is the week before finals and we are all in a flurry of studying and cramming. I have been studying as much as I can and trying to get some of my projects that are finals done. I am going to post a picture of my one final project but I am not sure when but I will ASAP.

Thanksgiving was a blast this year. I got to see all the family and just hang out. The food was great and I loved being able to see everyone. It was so much fun to see everyone and all the little ones running around and that will be running around soon enough.

Christmas break is right around the corner here for me, literally, my classes are done on the 12 but I am not going to head back to EC until the 15 so I can just hang around here and make sure I have everything I will need for a 2 week stay in the middle of no where. I am for sure bringing my snowboard back home with me, I have to have something to do with my other college friends that I left back home. I am excited for Christmas just because I get to see all of my old friends and bug some of the teachers I left behind and hang out with my still high school friends.

This is about all that I can do for my last 2 weeks, nothing really exciting happening. I am off to study some more for psychology.

Your ever vigilant college student,

Austin

:D

Hey all, Just another update.

Classes have been going well but I am having trouble coming up with an idea for my 2-D design class. We are suppose to paint something that shows rhythm and I can't find anything to paint it on. this is a dilemma as the assignment is due on Monday :S. All of my other classes are going well though. I was able to sign up for classes on Wed. and I was lucky enough to get into my second photography class but I will have to wait for my drawing and web design classes until the fall when they are offered which will suck.

I still haven't found a job yet but my dad and uncle Kyle know a guy that works at Questar and I may be able to get a temp job there replacing some meter things. It is only for 2 months but it is about $9 an hour plus how ever many new meter things I install. I am still waiting to hear back about the security job I put in for and i am still looking for a job. No one seems to want to hire right now. Fast food place like McDonalds isn't even hiring right now, it is crazy.

I am going to be able to make it up to see every one this coming weekend. I can't wait to see you all! It is to bad that you guys couldn't come up during Thanksgiving :(.

It is getting late now and I should get up early so I can do my assignment for 2-D design so it is done and ready to go.

Missing you all,

Austin

My week in a glance

Hey all,
My week has been fairly busy. This Wed. I had a retreat for SUUSA and got free pizza and then we played wallyball. That was so much fun. My classes have been good, not a lot going on just some assignments and preparation for finals.
This weekend I played night games with some friends and we went back and watched a part of Aladdin and then we went to Little Ceasers and ate pizza on the top of the only parking garage in Cedar City and just hung out. When we went back to the girls' apartment we just sat around talking for a little bit and then we started to play Twister. This week has been a lot of fun, I haven't had a real dull moment this week which is really odd. I am off to play some more wallyball with some of my roommates and some of the girls from downstairs.

Can't wait to see you all,
Austin

An eventful Halloween

Hey all,

I hope you all had a happy Halloween, I know I did. I went trick or treating last night with some of my roommates and some of the girls from across the hall and below them. It was so much fun just because we actually got some candy. I was dressed up as a gangster and I looked so good that my roommate Sean dressed up as one too. We went up to some houses that sit up on top of this hill and we actually made a nice walk through a lot of houses and streets but we ended up back at our apartment for a little bit eating candy and trying to figure out something fun that we could do. Our friend Kadi from downstairs went trick or treating with us and she also hung out with us after our candy fun time trick or treating. Sean ended up leaving to go help his friend with some car troubles he was having so Kadi, Ryland, my other roommate, and I just sat around talking for a little bit and at about 12 we walked to the Maverick right down the road and they got something to drink and I just went for the fun. At about 2 though we walked to Dennys for breakfast. There was a big dance that the school put on and a lot of people went to but from what I heard it was pretty dumb, but when we were at Dennys we had to wait for a table because almost everyone who was at the Howl had the same idea as we did but we got an early table because some groups left just before us. We saw so many strange and funny costumes. On our way back to our apartment I had a sudden idea. i waited for no car in front of were our basketball stadium is and I climbed up on top of this big statue of a horse that is in front. It was really really stupid at the time but it was fun. I am going to try and put the pic up so you all can see :D. All in all, after we got back Sean was watching tv and we all just talked for what seemed like a few minutes but turned out to be about an hour and a half. I didn't get to sleep until about 5 in the morning.

Now about school. All of my classes have been going well and they have been fun but nothing really exciting to talk about. I have to do my work for my 2-D design class this weekend sometime so I can turn it in on Monday but it shouldn't be to hard. My photography class assignment is due on Wed and I haven't started yet but that is because I have no idea how to do an abstract picture :S.

That is about all that is happening this weekend and such. I will update again on Friday :D

Miss you all,
your college student

*cough cough*

Hey all,

The past week has been a bit slow but pretty eventful. I went deer hunting this past weekend and was able to skip classes on Friday so I decided to stay the night at my moms and Royce and I would go up to camp with our dad on Friday. It was tons of fun. Other than that none of us saw a buck to shoot, although my dad, his friend Chris, and I hiked up a small mountain and saw ourselves a coyote and we shot at him. After 6 shots he still got away but he was going to be picking some rocks out of his fur. It was lots of fun.
School has been going good. Classes have been fun and pretty easy going. I took 3 tests last week and I found out my scores for 2 of those tests. I did really well on my Art Retrospective class test. I got 27/30 so that brought my average up in there. The week before I took this last class the school sent home a letter notifying me that I was in danger of failing the class but that is just because we don't do any assignments in there and just take a test after each section and at the time of the letter we had only taken one test so I much not have done so well on it :S. The second test was in Psychology. I scored fairly well for studying the wrong material. Oops on my part. I got a mid B on it so I was still happy with the score I got. Tomorrow I will hopefully find out the score from my photography test. I am also turning in a self portrait for our assignment this week, it is at the bottom.

I have been pretty busy with Thor Corps. stuff lately. I have to attend a second meeting every month that is just for the presidents of the different clubs and we have been planning a few activities and on Halloween we are doing a car for the LDSSA and SUUSA trunk or treat. Then depending on if I get approval we will be doing a small game for a big club fund raiser, but that all depends on if we have the money.

On the deer hunt I have gotten a small cold and have been taking medicine for it like I should. But I accidentally bought night time cough syrup and took it just before my one o' clock class so, of course, I totally zonked out in the middle of the professors lecture and woke up just in time to have roll taken so that means I was out for about 15 minutes. I have learned my lesson and have started to read the labels of my medicines.

Can't wait to see you all at Thanksgiving!

A little late

Hey all,

Sorry for the late post. I was busy all weekend goofing off and studying. Classes have been going good like usual, my professor for 2-D drawing had a conference to go to so we only had that class once and my critique group for photography was on Wednesday so I had me a nice 3 day weekend. I have 3 test this week though. One in psychology, art retrospective, and photography. It should be a lot of fun.
This weekend was a blast though. We had a little party Thursday night. We had almost everyone on our floor come to our room to play poker and some board games. It was a blast. Then Friday one of the girls from across the hall came and hung out with us until 2, but that was because she got locked out and no one else was home, so we just talked and had a good time. Saturday I went to the girls soccer game. It was freezing. It snowed the last 5 minutes of the game and it was a mini blizzard with that bone chilling wind and the snow. We did win the game,3-0, against West Minster. Sunday we watched some of the football games and then went out and played a little catch with a football. Don't ask me how but i was able to find time to study this weekend. I was surprised at it myself.

In other news, Tanika and I broke up this weekend too. We just couldn't get the distance to work. She was always working and doing homework and I was always running around doing SUUSA and Thor Corps stuff. Don't say sorry and all though. This stuff happens, it is just how life is.

Happy October

Hello all,

Hope all are having a good October so far. I know I have :P.

I have finally got the all awaited picture of my "girlie friend".

There you all are. Hope you enjoy, I know I do ;)

So far my October has been a bit slow. Just been to classes and such but I am going on the Elk hunt this weekend so there is something exciting to look forward to.

This past week has just been classes and one flag football game. I have been having a lot of fun with the student government and getting things planned for football games and the tail gates. I was interviewed for the schools news station because I am the president of the Thor Corps, I will post the Youtube video as soon as I get it. That was an all new experience and a little hard to do because I was pretty nervous. But it is going to help me when I run for the school spirit position on the presidents cabinet in March. I hope I get it. I really like doing activities and planning things out. It will also look good on resumes and help me in learning more about leadership. :) I am already planning ahead.

Thought I would let everyone know that I am going to be bringing my "girlie friend" to Thanksgiving so all of you can meet her in person. I know you all will like her.

The college student you all know as

Austin.

P.S. I am attaching a link to Tanikas blog. please go read and let her know how you feel :D Thanks much!

P.S.S I have followed Summers suggestion and have started a second blog just for the pictures that I take for my assignments

Flag Football

Hey all,

Here is a mid-week update.

This week has been pretty good. Not a lot of work and not to busy.
This week I don't have any classes on Friday. :) lucky me. My 2-D design professor has a convention that he has to go to so he canceled class on Friday and my photography class is only meeting with half the class for critiquing pictures and my class did it today.

Now I don't think I have talked about this but I signed up with a few of my roommates and joined an inter mural flag football team. we have played 2 games . Our second game was today and the other team was just ridiculous. They started off with illegal block for flag football with basketball screens. I don't know how you get those two sports confused but they did it. Well one kid on the other team was rushing our quarterback so a teammate and I were defending him at the snap. This kid was about 2 of me tall and built solid. The way he kept rushing me was illegal for flag football. It was called bull rushing. I don't know. But the one time he did it he knocked me to the ground, no big deal, 5 yard penalty in our favor and I didn't think twice about it until I started to walk a little bit on my foot. I got me a nice bruise on my ankle and the picture doesn't do it much justice but you can see the bruise inside the yellow circle.

Just wanted to give a small update :)

2 Yards

Ok all. Today has been an event packed one. This morning I woke up at 6 to join in the Sorrel 5K. I walked with a couple friends and a really nice lady that we met there. That doesn't sound so bad but when I finally got to bed it was 2:30. My own stupid action. lol. Well I had just enough time after the run that my roommate, myself, and a friend came back and made pancakes for breakfast. They were really good but I just couldn't eat more than 2. After breakfast I was in the homecoming parade and just walked and held a banner. Lots of fun.

Then the fun started. I was at the tailgate party and was just handing out more shirts but I was enjoying it more this time. I got my face painted as you can see in the picture, and went to the football game. That was fun but a HUGE disappointment.

We started the game pretty even 0-0 until about the second quarter when the other team got the field goal for 3. Following that they got a touch down and PAT but we came back with a TD and PAT. We stayed there for a little bit when we had a miracle play and got ahead by one point. We were in the 4th quarter and we all thought the game was over when..oops, fumble here and punt there. They got up another TD.
Depressed we tried and tried when we finally got to the goal line with 30 seconds left and 2 yards to go for the tying TD and point winning PAT. Our QB ran back and threw his first pass. interception but lucky for us he was out of bounds when he caught it. We then tried a run play. We lost yards. So once again the QB threw a pass. It was right there in the receivers hands when... he wasn't quite tall enough but the guy behind him was. Interception. We lost the game by a full TD and one bad play. I have no voice, my face is painted still, and yet no homecoming win.

Oh well I guess there is always next year.

In depth weekly update

Hey y'all

Back again to give a more in depth update on my week. If you missed my short one from earlier this week you should read it.

This week is homecoming and there for we have a lot of activities going on and the best part. FREE FOOD. I went to the homecoming bbq tonight. I wasn't able to enjoy it to much because I had my evening class tonight at 7 and that cut out all of my fun with the bbq but oh well. The class is more important. I am excited for the game on Saturday because it will be a HUGE party and a lot of free food. It is also the first game with me being the Thorcorps president. I was able to finish the constitution with some help from my freshman board adviser.

Classes have been going really good. I handed in my first assignment for my photography class on Wed. and tomorrow I am turning in my drawing for 2-D design.
I finally had my first college test on Tuesday in my psychology1010 class and it wasn't to bad. A little different than what I am used to but I wasn't expecting the same old. The best part is that I had my second college test today in my art retro class. It wasn't to difficult but I didn't understand some of the words used because I didn't have them in my notes and we don't have any textbooks for the class so I wasn't the only one to guess on those questions.

Hope you all are doing well,

Austin

Quick update

Hi all,

This is just a quick update on a a key subject I know you all are wondering on.

I am now dating a wonderful and beautiful girl named Tanika. She is an amazing person and she is very smart. She was in the honor society and was one of the tops of our class (we went to high school together). She is going to UVU now but I know that we can over come the distance. I spent the weekend at her grandmothers house and we just connected on a deeper level. She is a very special person to me. She has helped me through a lot of stuff and has been beside me every step of the way. Every minute I spend with her I have a hard time thinking of anything else or concentrate on anything.

I will do a longer more thorough update later this week

SUUSA

Hey all,

Hope you all have been doing well. Classes have been going well this week, nothing new has happened in my classes but outside there is news. As I have said in a previous blog i believe but just in case....
I am in a school organization called SUUSA. It is the student association and as a member I just help out with some of the different school functions and there is a branch club that SUUSA is over called Thorcorps. It is a club for students to join that gets them seats to the different sporting events and they cheer loud and proud. Well this last Saturday there was a football game and the different sections of student government hosted different activities at a tail-gate party. I was in charge of handing out T-shirts to the students who signed up for Thorcorp. The freshman board leader kept a steady eye on all of the activities that SUUSA was in charge of.
When I was at our weekly meeting tonight I was appointed the president of Thorcorp. Here I have to write up the club constitution that all of the members must follow. This posed me with a bit of a problem and it is a good challenge for me if I want to run for any position on the student government for next year.

The job hunt is going a little slow but tonight I applied for a job helping disabled adults in the community. This was recommended by my one roommate and RA, Cameron, who works there. I am hoping that I get this job because I need money :-s

That is all I have for right now, I hope you all are doing well and best of wishes =D

Another week

Another week has come and gone along with just a painting assignment and the continue for the job hunt.
Classes have been ok this week. Started a bit slow but that is because of the long weekend, which I hope you all enjoyed safely. I started off easy with UNIV 1000, just reviewed a paper, and our prof. for PVA 1040 had to attend his mother-in-laws funeral so we didn't have class and then a good lecture in PSY 1010.
I had homework to do today though for my 2-D drawing class where I had to paint a work without making it look like the word. It was a bit challenging at first but I finally got it. I hope it is done right though.
Saturday I am helping out at the football game with SUUSA and getting a freaking awesome shirt. I am hoping to get some good pictures at the game. :)

That is about all I have to update for now

Best wishes to all

Austin

P.S. try and see the word in the picture

Classes

I have been to all of my classes as of today. They all look like they will be fun but I'm a little worried about my 2-D drawing class. I have a hard time with drawing anything and now I have to have a ton of sketches and an actual drawing for class. But I have met a lot of new people from my different class'. I'll give a quick outline of my days:

MWF--1:00pm/2:50pm is 2-D drawing--3:00pm/3:50pm is photography and that is my day

TR--9:00am/9:50am is University 1000 (required for school) --10:00am/11:20am is Art Retrospective--1:00pm/2:20pm is Psychology 1010

That is my week in short and it isn't to bad but it keeps me busy. I have enjoyed my first week with my roommates. We have played poker twice until about 3 in the morning and just chilled and hung out messing around and stuff. I can't wait to really get into my classes and start on the work.

Hope to see y'all soon :)

The Move and roommates

Hey all, new to the blog thing but figured this is the best way to keep everyone up to date on what is going on here in Cedar City and how school is going.
The big move was on Tuesday August 19. With a wake up at 6 and leaving a little after 7 and a quick turn around for a left cell phone charger we made it to Cedar at about 12. I had all of my stuff moved in for the most part at around 2. We had to make a run to Wal-mart for food and things that I needed for my room and kitchen.

I met one of my roommates that night. His name is Jed and he is from Riverton. It is such a run of luck because we did go to elementary together. I met my second roommate the following day.His name is Sean and he is from West Jordan and pretty cool. He and his girlfriend made dinner for everyone one night on accident. I do have to say it was quite good. My third roommate is from Delta and that is about all I know about him. I haven't really seen him to get to know him. The fourth is from Hawaii. We all call him Bucky but his real name is Christian. He plays on the baseball team and is a BIG boy. He is really funny though. The last room mate is also the RA for our floor. His name is Cameron. He is really cool and is a laugh to be around.

So far school hasn't been to bad but classes start tomorrow so I will have to see what happens from there. It shouldn't be to bad. With 2 classes on MWF and 3 on TR (R=Thursday) I'm really excited though. Hope all of you are doing well. I'll try and keep a post up every 2 weeks or so just to let you all know what is happening. I have met a lot of cool people and am hoping to meet a lot more!
