Darn Cardinals

Hey all,

Just giving an update. I have been really busy lately. Meetings after class on Monday and Wednesday for student government, I took my first test of the semester last week. I studied hard for this one and when it came time to take it I realized, philosophy isn't that easy at all. I know I did pretty well on it anyway. This weekend has been quite busy but fun filled, my roommates and I had a small party with just a couple of our friends and we all cheered for the Arizona Cardinals. They were so close but as soon as the Steelers made that lucky last touchdown we knew that the game was over. The Cardinals just could not get a break from the ref's either. Call after call kept going to the cardinals when there was no way that it was their fault or could have avoided it, but there is no use in crying over spilled milk. At least the game was close at the end.

I have class at 9 tomorrow so I should probably go, I'll update you next weekend sometime!

Friday update

Hey all,

This past week as been nothing but busy, it was nice not to have class on Monday though so that helped me out a bit. Tuesday was class and then Wednesday was typical class but at 7 my roommate Sean, student body president Jon, the controller of money in student government Cody, and Myself all participated in the first annual Greek Week. We did a relay race which we took 4th in because I couldn't tie a stupid toga and I'm not sure what we got in the donut eating contest, Sean took place in that and took 2nd in our heat. After the eating contest we participated in a trivia game where we took first overall, Jon knew all but 2 questions because he is the president he had to learn all of them and pass a test on them to become said president so we had a slight advantage over the other clubs.

Friday night I had to partake in a club presidents training session because...well I'm a club president, it was really informative but it was so boring at the same time. There was a make your own fajita bar though and that was good and made the whole thing worth it. I got out of that at about 7:30 and went to the last event of Greek Week which was a TOGA PARTY, who woulda guessed? It wasn't that much fun though, there were only about 30 people there and the music was to loud for where they had it so my friends and I left early and went and just hung out.

Next week I have a full week of school and then starting this Monday I have to go to a meeting on Monday and Wednesday every week so I can learn how the student government works because I want to run for one of the positions for next year but that isn't for a few more months.

I have to go study for a test on Monday, next blog up asap!

New Semester

Hey all,

The new semester has started and boy is it a big one. My schedule is pretty full. With philosophy, art 1010, and digital imaging 3 times a week I don't get out of classes until 5 but I don't start until 11 and I get an hour break between each class and Tuesday and Thursday I just have one class at 1 and that is silk screen/relief and it is pretty interesting so far. My classes have been going ok so far but I know that they will just get harder the further into the semester we go. Philosophy is going to be a hard class for me. I can tell because of all the books I had to buy for it. I have to read some Plato, decartes, and the professors book. I have already been studying hard for that class but it is nice that every 3rd week he gives us a break from class for the day. I am really enjoying my digital imaging class so far. We are just covering some of the basics in photoshop and I have already learned some cool new features.

Outside of classes though I have been busy as well. I am participating in the Greek Week Greek Olympics with one of my roommates. I don't know what I have to do for it but I am pretty excited for it.

The weather here has been really cold we got A LOT of snow just before the Christmas break and one of my roommates, a friend of mine and myself went sledding down a small hill that wasn't very good. I tried to snowboard down it and fell both times.

I hope everyone is having a good January and that no one has given up on those new year resolutions ;)

Christmas Vacay

Hey all,

It has been so nice to just sit and do nothing for the last 2 weeks. It was really nice to see the family again though.

For Christmas I stayed with my dad and Tedann. We had some fun when we got a hold of rockband and got to see Tylynn and Tedann show off their singing capabilities. Christmas was very eventful. I was up at 5 to open presents with my dad, Tedann, and everyone else and then at about 11 Royce and I went to moms and opened more presents and just hung out with her for the rest of the day. We played some rockband and that was fun. Mom can sing pretty well as long as she knows the song and Royce is the expert on the drums, literally, he plays the expert difficulty on nearly every song. There are still a few that give him trouble but he keeps working on it.

Friday Royce, mom, and I went up to SLC to visit everyone up there for Christmas. That was a lot of fun. On our way up we ate at the Wingers in Spanish Fork and I was able to visit an old friend and co-worker who works there. When we got to Wendy's we visited for a little bit and then went to bed so we could get up and hit the hills for some good ol' sledding and a few of us went snowboarding. We were there for a few hours and for once I'm in some of the pictures, thanks mom for taking them. I will try and post these pics up soon but I'm not sure exactly when.

I hope everyone had a happy and safe holiday and a happy new year soon to come,

A bit early

Hey family,

I have just got done with my last final for this semester and I am so excited. 3 weeks of nothing but sleeping in and hanging out with friends. I just had 3 finals today, Thursday, and I feel really good about all of them. I am going to hang our here on campus for a few days and head back to EC on Tuesday, mom and dad, I am really excited to get home and go snowboarding and seeing my friends from high school and just chill. I was up studying forever last night getting ready for my psychology test and I did just fine, I just have the feeling.

I just wanted to let you all know how classes have been going and my week so that is it. I hope you all have a great December and that you all have a merry Christmas.

Late update

Hey everyone, sorry for my late update. It has been a little hectic around here lately. It is the week before finals and we are all in a flurry of studying and cramming. I have been studying as much as I can and trying to get some of my projects that are finals done. I am going to post a picture of my one final project but I am not sure when but I will ASAP.

Thanksgiving was a blast this year. I got to see all the family and just hang out. The food was great and I loved being able to see everyone. It was so much fun to see everyone and all the little ones running around and that will be running around soon enough.

Christmas break is right around the corner here for me, literally, my classes are done on the 12 but I am not going to head back to EC until the 15 so I can just hang around here and make sure I have everything I will need for a 2 week stay in the middle of no where. I am for sure bringing my snowboard back home with me, I have to have something to do with my other college friends that I left back home. I am excited for Christmas just because I get to see all of my old friends and bug some of the teachers I left behind and hang out with my still high school friends.

This is about all that I can do for my last 2 weeks, nothing really exciting happening. I am off to study some more for psychology.

Your ever vigilant college student,

Austin
