Hey all,
The past week has been a bit slow but pretty eventful. I went deer hunting this past weekend and was able to skip classes on Friday so I decided to stay the night at my moms and Royce and I would go up to camp with our dad on Friday. It was tons of fun. Other than that none of us saw a buck to shoot, although my dad, his friend Chris, and I hiked up a small mountain and saw ourselves a coyote and we shot at him. After 6 shots he still got away but he was going to be picking some rocks out of his fur. It was lots of fun.
School has been going good. Classes have been fun and pretty easy going. I took 3 tests last week and I found out my scores for 2 of those tests. I did really well on my Art Retrospective class test. I got 27/30 so that brought my average up in there. The week before I took this last class the school sent home a letter notifying me that I was in danger of failing the class but that is just because we don't do any assignments in there and just take a test after each section and at the time of the letter we had only taken one test so I much not have done so well on it :S. The second test was in Psychology. I scored fairly well for studying the wrong material. Oops on my part. I got a mid B on it so I was still happy with the score I got. Tomorrow I will hopefully find out the score from my photography test. I am also turning in a self portrait for our assignment this week, it is at the bottom.
I have been pretty busy with Thor Corps. stuff lately. I have to attend a second meeting every month that is just for the presidents of the different clubs and we have been planning a few activities and on Halloween we are doing a car for the LDSSA and SUUSA trunk or treat. Then depending on if I get approval we will be doing a small game for a big club fund raiser, but that all depends on if we have the money.
On the deer hunt I have gotten a small cold and have been taking medicine for it like I should. But I accidentally bought night time cough syrup and took it just before my one o' clock class so, of course, I totally zonked out in the middle of the professors lecture and woke up just in time to have roll taken so that means I was out for about 15 minutes. I have learned my lesson and have started to read the labels of my medicines.
Can't wait to see you all at Thanksgiving!

A little late
Hey all,
Sorry for the late post. I was busy all weekend goofing off and studying. Classes have been going good like usual, my professor for 2-D drawing had a conference to go to so we only had that class once and my critique group for photography was on Wednesday so I had me a nice 3 day weekend. I have 3 test this week though. One in psychology, art retrospective, and photography. It should be a lot of fun.
This weekend was a blast though. We had a little party Thursday night. We had almost everyone on our floor come to our room to play poker and some board games. It was a blast. Then Friday one of the girls from across the hall came and hung out with us until 2, but that was because she got locked out and no one else was home, so we just talked and had a good time. Saturday I went to the girls soccer game. It was freezing. It snowed the last 5 minutes of the game and it was a mini blizzard with that bone chilling wind and the snow. We did win the game,3-0, against West Minster. Sunday we watched some of the football games and then went out and played a little catch with a football. Don't ask me how but i was able to find time to study this weekend. I was surprised at it myself.
In other news, Tanika and I broke up this weekend too. We just couldn't get the distance to work. She was always working and doing homework and I was always running around doing SUUSA and Thor Corps stuff. Don't say sorry and all though. This stuff happens, it is just how life is.

Happy October
Hello all,
Hope all are having a good October so far. I know I have :P.
I have finally got the all awaited picture of my "girlie friend".
There you all are. Hope you enjoy, I know I do ;)
So far my October has been a bit slow. Just been to classes and such but I am going on the Elk hunt this weekend so there is something exciting to look forward to.
This past week has just been classes and one flag football game. I have been having a lot of fun with the student government and getting things planned for football games and the tail gates. I was interviewed for the schools news station because I am the president of the Thor Corps, I will post the Youtube video as soon as I get it. That was an all new experience and a little hard to do because I was pretty nervous. But it is going to help me when I run for the school spirit position on the presidents cabinet in March. I hope I get it. I really like doing activities and planning things out. It will also look good on resumes and help me in learning more about leadership. :) I am already planning ahead.
Thought I would let everyone know that I am going to be bringing my "girlie friend" to Thanksgiving so all of you can meet her in person. I know you all will like her.
The college student you all know as
Austin.
P.S. I am attaching a link to Tanikas blog. please go read and let her know how you feel :D Thanks much!

Flag Football

Hey all,
Here is a mid-week update.
This week has been pretty good. Not a lot of work and not to busy.
This week I don't have any classes on Friday. :) lucky me. My 2-D design professor has a convention that he has to go to so he canceled class on Friday and my photography class is only meeting with half the class for critiquing pictures and my class did it today.
Now I don't think I have talked about this but I signed up with a few of my roommates and joined an inter mural flag football team. we have played 2 games . Our second game was today and the other team was just ridiculous. They started off with illegal block for flag football with basketball screens. I don't know how you get those two sports confused but they did it. Well one kid on the other team was rushing our quarterback so a teammate and I were defending him at the snap. This kid was about 2 of me tall and built solid. The way he kept rushing me was illegal for flag football. It was called bull rushing. I don't know. But the one time he did it he knocked me to the ground, no big deal, 5 yard penalty in our favor and I didn't think twice about it until I started to walk a little bit on my foot. I got me a nice bruise on my ankle and the picture doesn't do it much justice but you can see the bruise inside the yellow circle.
Just wanted to give a small update :)

2 Yards

Ok all. Today has been an event packed one. This morning I woke up at 6 to join in the Sorrel 5K. I walked with a couple friends and a really nice lady that we met there. That doesn't sound so bad but when I finally got to bed it was 2:30. My own stupid action. lol. Well I had just enough time after the run that my roommate, myself, and a friend came back and made pancakes for breakfast. They were really good but I just couldn't eat more than 2. After breakfast I was in the homecoming parade and just walked and held a banner. Lots of fun.
Then the fun started. I was at the tailgate party and was just handing out more shirts but I was enjoying it more this time. I got my face painted as you can see in the picture, and went to the football game. That was fun but a HUGE disappointment.
We started the game pretty even 0-0 until about the second quarter when the other team got the field goal for 3. Following that they got a touch down and PAT but we came back with a TD and PAT. We stayed there for a little bit when we had a miracle play and got ahead by one point. We were in the 4th quarter and we all thought the game was over when..oops, fumble here and punt there. They got up another TD.
Depressed we tried and tried when we finally got to the goal line with 30 seconds left and 2 yards to go for the tying TD and point winning PAT. Our QB ran back and threw his first pass. interception but lucky for us he was out of bounds when he caught it. We then tried a run play. We lost yards. So once again the QB threw a pass. It was right there in the receivers hands when... he wasn't quite tall enough but the guy behind him was. Interception. We lost the game by a full TD and one bad play. I have no voice, my face is painted still, and yet no homecoming win.
Oh well I guess there is always next year.

In depth weekly update
Hey y'all
Back again to give a more in depth update on my week. If you missed my short one from earlier this week you should read it.
This week is homecoming and there for we have a lot of activities going on and the best part. FREE FOOD. I went to the homecoming bbq tonight. I wasn't able to enjoy it to much because I had my evening class tonight at 7 and that cut out all of my fun with the bbq but oh well. The class is more important. I am excited for the game on Saturday because it will be a HUGE party and a lot of free food. It is also the first game with me being the Thorcorps president. I was able to finish the constitution with some help from my freshman board adviser.
Classes have been going really good. I handed in my first assignment for my photography class on Wed. and tomorrow I am turning in my drawing for 2-D design.
I finally had my first college test on Tuesday in my psychology1010 class and it wasn't to bad. A little different than what I am used to but I wasn't expecting the same old. The best part is that I had my second college test today in my art retro class. It wasn't to difficult but I didn't understand some of the words used because I didn't have them in my notes and we don't have any textbooks for the class so I wasn't the only one to guess on those questions.
Hope you all are doing well,
Austin

Quick update
Hi all,
This is just a quick update on a a key subject I know you all are wondering on.
I am now dating a wonderful and beautiful girl named Tanika. She is an amazing person and she is very smart. She was in the honor society and was one of the tops of our class (we went to high school together). She is going to UVU now but I know that we can over come the distance. I spent the weekend at her grandmothers house and we just connected on a deeper level. She is a very special person to me. She has helped me through a lot of stuff and has been beside me every step of the way. Every minute I spend with her I have a hard time thinking of anything else or concentrate on anything.
I will do a longer more thorough update later this week
